Global Social Enterprise Accelerating Project (GSAP)

Through KOICA project, WT Foundation continued local-based business support and network establishment projects to create a growth environment centered on job creation in developing countries for sustainable development cooperation projects.

Purpose

To suggest sustainable solutions to social problems in developing countries by training social enterprise experts

To create robust social economy ecosystem and decent jobs in developing countries by stabilizing social enterprises in their early stages

Participants

Social enterprises and CSOs (NGOs, NPOs, etc.) which cater to the needs of undeserved in Cambodia, Vietnam, Indonesia, and Nepal

  • MG Appropriate Technology Co. (MGAT)

    Agricultural Product Processing / Cambodia

    Provided training on sales management skills and marketing, and developed agricultural experts in Kandal area

    Created a virtuous circle to improve agricultural production and distribution structure for making a sustainable community environment

  • L Beauty Salon

    Vocational Training / Cambodia

    Provided systematic vocational training, created jobs and arranged employment referrals for underprivileged youths to set a foothold of independence

    Profits made from L Beauty Salon is reinvested in Lotus Hope Hair & Beauty Center, for vocational training and providing employment opportunities

  • Center for Development and Integration (CDI)

    Fair Trade Coffee / Vietnam

    Organized coffee farmer’s cooperative for the low-income farmers, and cultivated fair trade coffee in the Cau Dat Village

    Generated stable income through improving coffee distribution structure and developed organic coffee brand

  • PT Bintang

    Organic Farm & Fair Travel / Indonesia

    Sustainable organic farms were operated, and provided environmental problem awareness outbound program and education

    Through operating restaurants and tour programs, economic capacity building of local residents were sought

  • Social Enterprise Activation (SEA) Center

    Startup Space / Nepal

    Provided vocational training for the vulnerable, and developed social enterprise experts, and incubated social enterprises

    Incubated social enterprises such as fair tourism, fair trade, and organic catering services based on the local community

  • JuNeLi

    Handicraft Products / Nepal

    Provided capacity building program for women, and established local cooperation network

    Promoted economical independence of women in the vulnerable social group through employment and start-up support
